PRAY,
LIKE THE KING'S KID
Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Why do we pray? Have you ever wondered? It is because prayer is the key God has placed in the hands of men to open doors that no one can close, and to open heaven for the downpour of God’s rain. And today, the Creator of the universe is ready to turn His face to you with favor and breathe new life into your dreams, and propel you toward your destiny. That is why He tells you to ask, that if you do, you shall receive. And He is not talking to no one, but you and me. Matthew 7:7.
Imagine that you believe this, that the Omnipotent, who owns the whole earth, and all that’s in it, wants to give you whatever you ask for. But you might miss that if you don’t know this truth or you don’t believe it. You might say, “Toni, I don’t think I am good enough for His goodness. I don’t think I can receive what I am asking for. I don’t think I am one of His kids.” Yes, you are His kid. And when you ask, you will receive. But let me encourage you to release your faith to see yourself as His kid. I tell you, life would be pretty great if you can look up, especially as the King’s kid. Psalm 24:1.
The truth is the King of kings has put something in you that qualify you to get whatever you ask for. He has made you His kid. And being His kid gives you an advantage. It attracts His favor into your life, and brings you good breaks. Now you can ask for what you want in prayer as the kid of the King. And if you do, you surely shall be heard with all His ears, and receive with priority delivery. Ephesians 1:5; 1 Peter 2:9.
Praying like the King’s kid will open doors of favor unto you. You will get promotions, even though you are not the most qualified. You will come across people that will favor your course. Your marriage will bask in love. Your children will be treated with favor in school. If you can ask like His kid, the Lord promises that He will release help to assist you. He will make way for you where there is no way. And He will cause you to receive.
He says when you come to pray, come with confidence that you will receive what you ask for. But you come not expecting to have good breaks, or to be healed, or to experience miracles. You approach Him with a victim’s mentality, expecting to lose, even before you speak. You already talked yourself out of it before you talk to God. Hebrews 4:16.
Many times, you come for a fight, not for a feast. You come to report your enemies, or your situations. You don’t come for solutions. The Lord says, “The battle is not yours.” Yet all you want to do is fist fight or curse fight, instead of faith fight. And sometimes, you come recycling your past failures, mistakes, and offenses. You say, “I prayed before, I got nothing. I have committed too many sins. I am not sure God will heed my voice.” And you did not receive what God wants to do because you are not expecting it, all because you do not know God is merciful and forgiving. 2 Chronicles 20:15; 1 Timothy 6:12.
I told you my Mom was tough and bad with her left hand. But I found a way to get around butt-kicking. I would stay away long enough for lunch or dinner to pass. Then I would come back shouting, “l am hungry ooo.” No matter what I did, even if I broke her favorite plate, Mummy would feed me. If Mom could cancel beating for feeding, how much more your Merciful Father in heaven? Matthew 18:3-4.
If you want to get God to open His hands and satisfy your desire, you got to come like the King’s kid. Every time you come to God in prayer, you should come expecting good things to happen. You should come knowing that you have a Father who can never ever fail you. Come to Him expecting doors to open for you, even if they do not open for somebody else. You have an advantage. There is something you got that others may not have. You are the King’s kid. And a King’s kid does not have to struggle for his father’s cake. Just ask. Psalm 24:1; Matthew 7:9.
Besides, you are not only the King’s kid. You are the apple of His eyes. You got to be treated differently, even in the spiritual arena. The Devil will have no power over you. Demons will stay out of your way. And no bad tongues can rise against you. I am saying you need to hold your head high up, and pray to your Father like His kid. And expect that you will surely receive good breaks, open doors, divine connections, and fresh opportunities. Not because you deserve it, but because of who your Father is.
Psalm 24:1; Matthew 7:9.
Look at the prayer of Jabez. That is a prayer of a Prince. When Jabez looked at his life, he saw only sorrow, suffering, and shame. Even his mother named him sorrow. But Jabez prayed to God like he knew God was going to answer him. He did not question God about his situation. He did not blame no one or curse no one for his sorrow. He simply spoke to God, asking God to bless him, increase him, anoint him, protect him, and make him a source of joy. And God did as Jabez asked. 1 Chronicles 4:9-10.
Why did God answer Jabez so right away? Jabez talked to God like His kid. You too can start approaching Him like the King’s kid. Come to Him like you have an edge over your situation. Come expecting to receive favor. Stop coming to Him dragging the feet of your mind. Come, trusting that He will honor your request and cause people to be good to you, doors to be opened unto you, miracles to take place in your life, and victory to be your experience.
Your King’s kid attitude is not pride or arrogance. It is not mediocrity or stupidity. It is a radical trust and humble belief that you know your Father is a good God. It only shows you know and believe that the Creator of the universe has breathed His life into you. It means you know that all the forces of heaven will stand at attention at your approach to the throne. The angels, the demons, even the devil himself, know who the King’s kid is when you come asking for something. They know you have been set apart. They know there is something different about you. They know you are entitled to royal treatment.
You got to see yourself the way heaven sees you. You need to carry yourself as the King’s kid, not only when you walk around in the world, but especially when you approach your Father in prayer. You need to see yourself at advantage, as a victor, and no more as a victim. Come to Him, knowing that you have favor with Him. When you need something from your Father, a good break, a divine connection, a destiny relationship, resolution of marriage conflicts, healing in your body, victory over challenges, stand before your Father and speak to Him. Then go home believing it’s on the way. Mark 11:24.
Sometimes, you do not receive what you ask because you listen to the enemy when he lies to you, telling you that you are not a good ‘Prince’; that you will never get promoted; that you will not get married; that you will remain barren; that you will not get well; that you won’t make it in business, or you cannot be a good minister. But you got to go past those lies and come to your Father. Ask Him what you want. And watch Him keep His promise. God knows you are not average. He knows you are not ordinary. You belong to the Royal Family. You can come expecting favor like no one else.
You don’t have to fight no one, or curse no one. You don’t have to wish no one bad either. Come to God and ask Him to bless you with His blessings. Then watch Him do it. Leave the battle for Him. He knows what to do to deliver the blessings into your life. Leave Him to shake what needs shaking. Leave Him to move what needs to go. Give Him room to bless you as He promised to. Haggai 2:6.
God knows how to answer your prayer. He knows how to make it happen what you ask for. So when you come to Him, come believing in your heart that you are the King’s kid. Therefore, doors will open unto you. Good breaks will happen to you. The right people will come your way. Great and mighty things will take place in your life. You will be taken to greater heights far beyond and above your dream.
You might say, “He is God anyway. If He wants to bless me, He will bless me. If He wants to give me things, He will give me.” No. It doesn’t work like that. God is moved by our faith. He wants you to approach Him believing that He is God. Then Jehovah Jireh will open His hands and satisfy your desires. Hebrews 11:6; Psalm 145:16.
It takes boldness to believe that the Almighty God will do according to your asking. You cannot approach Him shaking in your heart, thinking you don’t deserve it, thinking He is not going to do it, or it’s too big what you ask. You got to come to Him knowing that nothing is impossible for your Father to do. The secret to answered prayer is praying like a winner, like a King’s kid. You got to come without fear, without doubt, or guilt. Come like you never offended Him. Hebrews 8:12.
The Scripture says, “When you acknowledge God, He will crown your effort with success.” That’s what Jesus did at the tomb of Lazarus. He acknowledged God, and recalled that He has favor with His Father. He said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me.” And He called Lazarus to come out. And the dead man came out of the grave, alive. Proverbs 3:5-6; John 11.
The more you acknowledge God, the more you realize your position in Him. When you want to do something in your life, say you want to start a business, or go into ministry, or get a new carrier, or go back to school, or get into marriage, acknowledge God and pray to Him like the King’s kid. And He will go before you and lead your way into success. He will cause good favor to chase you down. He will cause good people to come your way. He will cause to open to you, every door you knock at.
When David said “Goodness and mercy shall follow me…” He is saying he knew God would always be with him. He would give him good breaks, divine favor, overflowing anointing, and victory. But if you come to the throne of God with a mindset that you never get any good break. You are already calling failure, lack, or mediocrity to follow you around. Psalm 23:6.
But if you will switch into the attitude of a King’s kid, and come knowing that His favor is with you; that His hands will open doors for you; that His power will work things out in your favor, that His Spirit will give you victory, and you pray with that attitude, you will receive what you ask for like you never dreamed of. Even when you forget to ask for certain things, you will get it, because His Spirit will help you ask. Romans 8:26.
Friend, what do you think would happen if you will lose your doubt, and come to the throne of mercy with faith in your heart? You will see your Father turning His face to you shining with favor. You will see you basking in abundance – abundance of royalty, favor, increase, love, peace, honor, and praise.
Others may spend longer time standing there praying. They may pray louder than a roaring lion. But the answer to prayer is not by noise or silence. It’s by faith. Whether you are praying alone or in a group, if you will come with a mindset of a winner, like the King’s kid, your faith will cause God to assist you, help you, take you to greater heights, and you will see doors opening, opportunities coming your way, problems going away, dreams coming to pass, and your destiny being fulfilled with colors.
Hallelujah
LET'S PRAY:
Right now, lift your face up and pray:
The voice of your heart shall be heard in heaven
And none of your prayers shall fall to the ground
Your dryness shall turn to freshness
Emptiness to Fullness, Sadness to Gladness,
Failure to Fulfillment, and Shame to Honor
And with faith in my heart, I decree:
From this day on
The God of Glory
Shall write your story in victory
And so shall it be
In the wonderful name of Jesus
Thank You, Father Lord
AMEN.
Do you receive that today?
If you do
Give God a loud glory
